Car Amplifier problem?
Well the other day i was listening to my music and all of a sudden the amplifier stops working. So i change the fuse in the front of the car and it was a 50watt before and i went to an audio shop and they sold me a 100watt fuse or w/e they said it was okay. But now everytime i listen to music the amp cuts out and has a read light where it says Status if the sub is hitting too hard. what can possible be the problem? i have a 800.2 amp with max power of 1600watts. and 2 12'' subs.

Car Amplifier Problems?
I have a mono amp hooked up to my sub. It worked fine all the time for a couple months. The other day I was listening to some music and the amp started smoking then shut off with the protect light on. The amp will turn back on but is always in protect mode. Would that smoking be the transformer? I took the amp apart and there are no burn marks, however at the base of the transformer there is a pen point sized browning of the glue but everything is intact still. Any ideas? I spent alot of money on the amp and would prefer to fix it than buy a new one!

Car amplifier problem?
Hello,
Ive just fitted two amps one to power my 6x9s and one 600w amp to power my sub, i had the exact same system in my old car. The problem which has seriously been frustrating me, is that when i turn my engine on without starting in the accessory position only the amp powering the 6x9 works the other amp goes into protection mode. However if i start the key in accessory mode then turn the engine on both amps will work fine.
I have checked all the wiring, and i am pretty sure its due to either power,ground or remote wire. also i have recently mounted the amplifier onto a wood boared preventing it from touching metal however this has not solved the problem
any help would be much appreciated Thanks!
i have a distribution block which reads 12.7 engine off, and 14.3 engine on. i have measure the volts coming into the sub amp which read 12v engine off 13v engine on. the remote wire is reading 10v engine off 12v engine on.
The remote wire is coming from the after market deck, into to the amp that works then into the sub amp, i am only using one remote wire to turn on both amps, is that a problem??
Both amps are grounded in the same spot ring terminal secured on top of each other connected to the vehicles chassis.

I have routed the remote wire into the distro block and it works fine, obviously never turns off though, what would be my next step? installing a switch into the remote wire?
I am using an 8 gauge power wire into the distro and out into thh amps.
I understand what you are saying, and i have heard of relays. However what i dont understand is why does the amp work fine with the engine off (10V protection) and then when the engine is turned on (13V remote wire) the protection light comes on??

sony car amplifier problem?
i have my amp hooked up, but no subs yet and the offset light turns on after i give the amp power, why is that?...could it be a fuse problem?
also, just to be sure, the wire that hooks up to my car battery is red, so the red wire is the one that i hook up to the amps power source right? and the blue one is the ground?
ok the 1st answer explained one of my problems...but anyone know why the offset light could be on?
