Car Stereo Subwoofers: An Essential Car Audio Component
In any car audio system, the subwoofer must absolutely be present. It might not sound important at first, but if you remove the subwoofer component, there's no bass left. When installing a car stereo subwoofer, it sometimes requires modifications to the vehicle itself. Obviously, each car is built differently, and that includes the space allowed for upgrades/changes like the subwoofer. If you want to shoot for a larger one or one with a different shape (although mostly circular, some subwoofers are square), it's important to make sure you have the right size available; otherwise, its time to bust out tools to make it so that you have the right size.
Never assume that a smaller subwoofer is weaker. For example, JL Audio's 8-inch W7 subwoofer is more powerful than some 12-inch subwoofers from other companies. Because of this, you must always read reviews on the subwoofer you're looking at before buying it in case that smaller subwoofer is indeed weaker. If you keep with the more popular brands, though, you shouldn't have many problems, because these have been reviewed many times over and won't fail to deliver.
Car stereo subwoofers sound like enthusiast-only business, but they dig deeper than most people think.

Sony Car Audio Wiring Harness for a Radio (what do each of the colored wires do?)
I have a Sony CDX-71W Radio, I'm have trouble with the back speaker in my car, its not blown, its just not getting power to the speaker. I need to know what colored wire in the back of the radio gives power to the back right speaker, if your looking at the car from the rear of the car. I tested it with a multimeter and I'm not getting any readings at all. Anyone know where I can find a diagram for free on what each wire does, or know what each colored wires do what?
I have no idea what wires go to what, just for the record. Only wire I know is the Remote wire.

Car audio wiring setup?
i have a ZX2500.1 amp, and 2 15" L7's wired to it at 2 ohms, i have about 500w's just sitting around extra, i also have 2 12" kicker CVR's wired to 2 ohms, how can i wire this setup so the most wattage goes to the L7's and the remainder will go to the CVR's, thank you.
i was going to use the CVR's because i have them left over from my old system, which was 4 CVR's in my ranger.
